South End Garden Tour


Public Transportation
Don't worry about parking and leave your car behind. The South End Garden Tour is accessible by public transportation.

"T"
From Back Bay/South End "T" stop on the Orange Line - exit the station on Dartmouth Street and turn left. Walk approximately 0.4 miles to the intersection with Tremont Street. Turn right onto Tremont, and walk approximately 0.2 miles to the library.

From Massachusetts Avenue "T" stop on the Orange Line - exit the station on Massachusetts Avenue. Turn right and walk southeast. Cross over Columbus Avenue and walk one more block to Tremont Street. Turn left onto Tremont. Walk 4.5 blocks to the library.

Bus
The Route 43 bus travels between Ruggles and Park Stations via Tremont Street. The closest stop to the South End branch of the Boston Public Library is on the corner of Tremont St. and Rutland Square. This stop is adjacent to the library.

Silver Line: The library is also within walking distance of the West Newton stop on the Silver Line bus route. Walk northwest on West Newton Street, crossing over Shawmut Avenue to Tremont Street. The library and ticket tent are on the corner.
